INTRODUCTION

The Tourism Office of Spain in India is one of the 33 overseas offices of Instituto de Turismo de España (Turespaña), a public body, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism through the Secretary of State for Tourism, responsible for promoting Spain as a tourist destination in the world.

Spain experienced its peak in the Indian outbound market in 2018, welcoming a remarkable total of 222,560 travelers, followed by 212,236 visitors in 2019, leading to a significant expenditure of 584 million euros. However, the pandemic severely impacted travel, resulting in only 27,413 arrivals in 2021. Nonetheless, a promising recovery is evident in 2022, with arrivals increasing to 144,659, as per the latest available data. Undoubtedly, Spain remains a preferred European destination for Indian travelers.

For Indian travelers, Spain is an enchanting vacation spot where a warm and welcoming atmosphere makes them feel right at home. The essence of Spanish life is best experienced on the bustling streets, creating a vibrant ambience. Spain's remarkable diversity, encompassing its cities and landscapes, along with its consistently pleasant weather, delectable gastronomy, exciting shopping, lively nightlife, and most importantly, the Spanish way of living, draw not only a significant number of Indian tourists each year but also leave a lasting impression that beckons them to return to Spain again and again.
